The Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the Oklahoma City Barons, signed center Will Acton to a two-year, two-way entry level contract, Oilers General Manager Craig MacTavish announced today.

Acton, a 6-2, 190-pounder from Stouffville, Ontario has played the last two seasons with the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League. In 136 games over those two seasons, the 25-year-old Acton scored 35 points (15-20-35) and served 118 penalty minutes.
Prior to turning pro, Acton played four seasons at Lake Superior State University. With the Lakers, he played in 144 games and scored 77 points (32-45-77). During his last two seasons with the Lakers, he finished in the top three on the team in scoring.

Before his collegiate career, Acton played three seasons with the Stouffville Spirit of the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League. Over those three seasons, he collected 73 points (32-41-73) in 122 games.  Will is the son of 15-year NHL veteran Keith Acton. Keith played over 1,000 NHL games with Montreal, Minnesota North Stars, Edmonton, Philadelphia, Washington and the New York Islanders. Keith was recently named an associate coach for the Edmonton Oilers.
