The Edmonton Oilers arrived in Oklahoma City earlier today to begin preparation for their preseason game against the Dallas Stars as part of the NHL Showcase presented by Mercy.  

The Oilers are participating in a variety of events during their time in Oklahoma City including a visit to Linwood Elementary School on Thursday morning from 9 – 10 a.m. to participate in a variety of activities including painting, singing, reading and physical education. Linwood Elementary School is supported by Mercy Hospital and their employees.

Later in the afternoon, members of the Oilers team will visit the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce After Hours event called the Sunset Reception at the Blue Line Club at the Cox Convention Center from 4 – 5 p.m. The evening concludes for the Oilers at a VIP reception at VAST atop the Devon tower. 

The Oilers on-ice practice sessions are open to the public. Should fans attend those practice sessions, access will be limited to the lower bowl seating area only. Players will have limited availability to credentialed media following their on-ice sessions.

Although the Barons home opener is October 4, hockey season begins in Oklahoma City when the Edmonton Oilers host the Dallas Stars in the NHL Showcase presented by Mercy on Friday, September 27 at the Cox Convention Center at 7 p.m. For more information about tickets, call the Barons office at 232-GOAL.
