BOB FUNK JR. NAMED TO OKCBIZ 40 UNDER 40 CLASS OF 2013

Prodigal LLC owner and CEO Bob Funk Jr. was named one of Oklahoma City’s 40 Under 40 by okcBIZ magazine.
Prodigal LLC is a full service event management company based in Oklahoma City. Prodigal operates the Oklahoma City Barons professional hockey team and Oklahoma City’s USL PRO soccer franchise that begins play in Spring 2014, co-promotes Professional Bull Riders (PBR) events in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, operates the Ram National Circuit Finals Rodeo (RNCFR), serves as the co-organizer for the March of Dimes Sports Headliner Banquet, produces the Bricktown 4th Fest and is sales and marketing partner with All College and World Cup of Softball.
Following his graduation from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1998, Bob has worked on a variety of projects in the sports and entertainment world including Summer & Winter X Games, AND 1 Mix Tape Tour, as well as Davis Cup and Fed Cup matches across the United States.

Bob and his family are actively involved in community efforts within the state of Oklahoma. With the Barons hockey team, Bob has participated in events with: Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Youth Hockey Association, Sexual Assault Awareness month with the Oklahoma Attorney General Office and PALS (Police Athletic League Sports).
On April 8, 2013, he received the Visionary Voice Award from the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. This award highlights individuals throughout the country whose prevention work is making an impact in their communities. Nominees are selected by state, tribal or territorial anti-sexual violence coalitions. Bob Funk Jr. is one of 26 leaders from across the country to earn the 2013 Visionary Voice Award.
Individually, he serves as Chairman of the newly formed Greater Oklahoma Sports Consortium, is a board member for the State of Oklahoma March of Dimes chapter, organizing committee member for the National Sports Forum, is a graduate of the CommStar Program at Tinker AFB, graduate of the Citizen Police Academy, supporter of The First Tee program, former chair for the March of Dimes Sports Headliner Banquet and is an active member of Downtown Rotary Club 29.
Bob and the additional 40 Under 40 Class of 2013 will be honored at the official awards party September 26 at the IAO Gallery in downtown Oklahoma City. Each honoree will receive an award, a $5,000 scholarship from Oklahoma City University’s Meinders School of Business and a published profile in the October issue of okcBIZ magazine.
