EDMONTON ASSIGNS 26 PLAYERS TO BARONS

The Edmonton Oilers assigned 26 players to the Oklahoma City Barons earlier today. Included were:

Justin Schultz

Included in the group assigned is the #1 overall selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, the Oilers 1st round selection (22nd overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft, Jordan Eberle and one of the most highly sought after free agent defensemen, Justin Schultz.


The list of players assigned also includes 16 players that skated with the Barons during the 2011-12 season. They include forwards Mark Arcobello, Philippe Cornet, Curtis Hamilton, Teemu Hartikainen, Tanner House, Anton Lander, Ryan Martindle, Magnus Paajarvi, Tyler Pitlick, Antti Tyrvainen and Chris VandeVelde; defensemen Martin Marincin, Alex Plante and Colten Teubert, and goaltenders Yann Danis and Olivier Roy.

Danis, Plante and Cornet represented the Barons at the 2012 AHL All Star Classic, while Pitlick, Paajarvi and VandeVelde provided key goals and solid play for the Barons in their Calder Cup playoff run last spring.

The Barons home opener is October 19 against the San Antonio Rampage at the Cox Convention Center at 7 p.m. A variety of ticket packages are available to meet every individual or group need. Packages ranging from 7-game and 11-game packs to Full Season Seats are available. Call the Barons’ front office at 405-232-4625 for information on group outings, Season Seats and other ticket packages.
