The Edmonton Oilers, parent club for the Oklahoma City Barons, assigned goaltender Yann Danis to Oklahoma City, General Manager Bill Scott announced today. In a separate transaction, the Oilers assigned Tyler Bunz to the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL. 

Danis, a 6-0, 182-pounder from Lafontaine, Quebec has appeared in 28 games with the Barons this season, posting a 13-12-3 record, 2.99 goals against average and .905 saves percentage. Last season, the graduate of Brown University earned the Aldege “Baz” Bastien Award as American Hockey League Goaltender of the Year after posting a 26-14-2 record, 2.07 goals against average, .924 saves percentage and five shutouts.

In his ninth season as a pro, Danis has played in 338 games, posting a 151-134-30 record, 2.70 goals against average, .911 save percentage and 17 shutouts. He has played in 51 NHL games with Montreal, New Islanders, New Jersey Devils and the Oilers. In those 51 games, he has a 16-21-4 record, 2.66 goals against average and .912 save percentage.

He appeared in one game with the Oilers, stopping all 14 shots he saw in 40 minutes of work on January 22 against San Jose.


Bunz appeared in just one game with Oklahoma City. He has a 11-9-3 record with the Stockton Thunder this season. 

The Barons return to action this weekend with two home games against the Charlotte Checkers. Thursday is a Winning Weekday. Should the Barons win, all fans earn a ticket for the Barons next weekday game. Friday is Concession Specials night with $1 hot dogs and $2 draft beers.

Friday night is Special Olympics Night with the Barons. Oklahoma City players are wearing one-of-a-kind jerseys that are available for bids in a live auction following the game. All proceeds from the jersey auction benefit the Barons Buddies program with Special Olympics.

Faceoff for both games is 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. Both games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
