Individual tickets for the NHL Showcase presented by Mercy go on sale to the general public on Friday, August 9, the Barons front office announced today.

The NHL Showcase presented by Mercy pits the Dallas Stars against the Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the Oklahoma City Barons, in the preseason finale for both teams. Faceoff is 7 p.m. on Friday, September 27 at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City.

The preseason contest against the Dallas Stars is the first of a unique promotions calendar for the Oklahoma City Barons. Shortly after the preseason game, the team’s home opener follows and the largest promotion in Oklahoma sports history will continue.

“Drive Away Every Saturday” gives one lucky fan the opportunity to win a new car just by coming to a Barons game every Saturday night during the regular season. Last season, the Barons gave away over $400,000 worth of automobiles & accessories. The vehicles included a Cadillac CTS Coupe, a Dodge Challenger, a Jeep Wrangler and a Ford F-150.

Current Barons Season Seat Holders have a ticket for the NHL Showcase presented by Mercy included in their Season Ticket packages. Dates when additional seats for the NHL Showcase presented by Mercy may be purchased are listed below, culminating with the on sale date for the general public.

Partial Plan Holders also have seats, but those tickets have not yet been selected.  To select your seats, or purchase additional seats, contact the Barons office at 232-GOAL.:

This is the fourth NHL preseason game to be played in Oklahoma City. The first featured the Dallas Stars against the St. Louis Blues in September 1995. The second pit the St. Louis Blues against the Boston Bruins in September 1997. The most recent was the Los Angeles Kings against the Phoenix Coyotes in October 2002. Oklahoma City did host a regular season NHL game in 1992 when the New York Islanders took on the Oilers in a neutral site contest.

The Barons open their 38-game home schedule with a weekend set of games October 4 and 5. In addition to the home opener, the Barons are scheduled to play at home November 12, 15 and 16 and December 20 and 21. The Barons annual Education Field Trip Day will be November 12. The remainder of the schedule will be announced later this summer.
