BARONS AND THEIR FANS DONATE OVER 3,500 STUFFED ANIMALS TO EMSA
By Josh Evans, OKC BaronsThe Oklahoma City Barons needed over 50 minutes of play to solve Peoria Rivermen goaltender Ben Bishop, but it was well worth the wait. Ryan Keller’s goal with 8:09 left to play in the game brought stuffed animals raining down on to Cox Convention Center ice.
Keller’s goal, his eighth of the season, brought over 1,000 stuffed animals onto the ice. The stuffed animals were collected and donated to EMSA for their use in emergency response situations involving children throughout the year.
In all, the Barons fans donated over 3,500 stuffed animals to EMSA. Over 1,000 were thrown on to the ice last night and 2,500 were donated by the Midwest City High School DECA club.
The Barons return to action tomorrow night on the road against the Texas Stars. Faceoff is 7 p.m. The game can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY, online at Sportsjuice.com and on a pay-per-view basis on AHLlive.com.
