BARONS SIGN CRAIG; RIMMER RETURNED ON LOAN TO QUAD CITIES

The Oklahoma City Barons have signed defenseman Graeme Craig to an AHL standard player contract for the 2014-15 season, General Manager Bill Scott announced today. Craig will join the Barons for the remainder of the 2013-14 season on an amateur tryout contract. In a separate transaction, the Barons returned goaltender Ty Rimmer on loan to the CHL’s Quad City Mallards.
Craig played in 27 games for the Prince Albert Raiders after being traded from the Saskatoon Blades. Craig had seven points for the Raiders with one goal and six assists. In his 44 games played for Saskatoon this year, the former Blades captain had 24 points with four goals and 20 assists.
The Red Deer, Alberta, native has played 330 career games in the WHL with the Raiders, Blades and Swift Current Broncos. He has 71 career points with 11 goals and 60 assists.
Rimmer has played in three games for the Barons this season with a 1-0-1-0 record and a 2.66 goals against average. Rimmer made 93 saves on 100 shots for a .930 save percentage in 158 minutes played previously for the Barons.
He has an 18-14-5 record with the Mallards this season. In his 39 games played, he has a 2.84 goals against and .906 save percentage. He was recently named to the CHL all-rookie team.
