The Barons won their league-leading 19th game and slipped ahead of Houston by two points atop the West Division with a 3-2 win over the Texas Stars on Saturday at Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, Texas.

Oklahoma City, 19-6-0-1, scored a goal in each period and never trailed in taking a 2-1 lead in the 10-game season series with the Stars. The Barons have won three straight and seven of their last eight and own an AHL-best 39 standing points.

The Barons played without injured wingers Gilbert Brule and Philippe Cornet and were also minus Josh Green, ineligible while awaiting a league ruling on a match penalty assessed on Friday.

Texas falls to 10-12-0-1 and sees a two-game winning streak halted.

The Barons opened the scoring on Tanner House's third goal in the last four games at 16:34 of the first period, as he put home a rebound off Tyler Beskorowany's pads.

Triston Grant was sprung on a breakaway by Ryan Lowery and gave the Barons a 2-0 lead at 6:00 of the second.

Texas closed within a goal at 4:16 of the third on a tally by Scott Glennie, but the Barons' Taylor Chorney answered with a goal off the rush at 11:28 on the power play to put Oklahoma City up 3-1. Texas concluded the scoring at 18:16 with an extra attacker goal by Matt Fraser against Yann Danis, who improved to 12-4-0 with 27 saves.

The same teams meet on Tuesday the Cox Center at 7 pm CST.
