EDMONTON RECALLS TAYLOR CHORNEY

The Edmonton Oilers, parent team of the Oklahoma City Barons, recalled defenseman Taylor Chorney, Barons general manager Bill Scott announced today.

Chorney, a 6-0, 190-pounder from Thunder Bay, Ontario has appeared in all 40 games for the Barons this season.  He has 15 points (3-12-15) and has served 18 penalty minutes.  He has appeared in 44 National Hockey League games, where he collected three assists.

He is leaving Oklahoma City today to meet the Oilers in Dallas in preparation for their game Tuesday against the Dallas Stars.

The recall of Chorney puts the number of Barons players on the Oilers roster at four.  He joins forwards Linus Omark and Liam Reddox and defenseman Jeff Petry.

Oklahoma City begins a seven-game road trip with a trio of games against the top teams in the Western Conference.  Thursday and Friday, the Barons take on the Peoria Rivermen at the Carver Arena in Peoria, Ill.  Saturday, the Barons take on the San Antonio Rampage at the AT&T Center.  All three games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
