The Chicago Wolves scored two first period goals as they shutout the Oklahoma City Barons 3-0 Saturday evening at the Cox Convention Center. The Barons (43-21-4-5) put 29 shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net as the Wolves (40-26-3-3) swept the season series with Oklahoma City.

Bill Sweatt got the Wolves on the board first with a goal at 8:52 of the opening period. Darren Haydar added his 20th of the year on a 5-on-3 power play at 10:40 of the first to give Chicago a 2-0 lead at the first intermission. The Wolves led in shots 12-10 after the first.

Sweatt added his second of the game early in the second period as he scored his 16th of the year at 1:35. Oklahoma City out-shot Chicago 14-8 in the second to gain a 24-20 lead in shots on goal.

The Wolves doubled up the Barons in the shots department in the third, 10-5, to gain the edge in the shots 30-29 at the final buzzer.

Oklahoma City went 0-for-1 with the man advantage.
The shutout was just the fourth by an opponent this season and first since Feb. 19 against San Antonio.

The Barons host the Houston Aeros on Friday, April 13 at 7 p.m. CT in the final home game of the regular season. Oklahoma City hits the road for the final two regular season games of the season, at Texas on April 14 at 7 p.m. CT and at San Antonio on April 15 at 3:30 p.m. CT. All three games can be heard locally on KXY 96.1 FM.
