Chris Minard had a hat trick and Chris Conner added four assists as the Grand Rapids Griffins beat the Oklahoma City Barons 6-2 on Saturday at Van Andel Arena.

Oklahoma City (42-19-4-5) splits a two-game trip and will face Hamilton on Tuesday at 7 pm at the Cox Center. Grand Rapids improves to 31-27-6-4.

Minard opened the scoring at 5:17 of the first from the right-win circle. He followed with a pwer play trally from the left circle at 8:55 past Yann Danis, who fell to 25-12-2. Landon Ferraro made it 3-0 after one on a rebound at 11:56 of the first.

Oklahoma City out-shot Grand Rapids in each period and 40-31 for the game. Tom McCollum made 38 saves in improving to 9-11-0.

Minard completed the hat track on an odd-man rush at 19:34 of the second.

Tanner House scored twice for the Barons in the third, his seventh and eighth of the season, but those were matched by Riley Sheahan's first pro goal and Joakim Andersson.

It was only the third time this season the Barons allowed as many at six goals in a game.
