FIVE THINGS TO KNOW: DECEMBER 20-21

By Cassie Gage,

Planning on attending the Oklahoma City Barons games this weekend? Here are the five things you need to know.

What is the parking situation?
There is a concert Saturday afternoon and evening at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Please refer to your parking booklet to know which parking garage you should park in. If you do not have a booklet, parking is available at the Cox Convention Center garage, Santa Fe parking garage and the Main Street parking garage, as well as other surface lots throughout the area. Check the Parking OKC
website for more information.

What are the promotions for this weekend?
FRIDAY NIGHT
Friday night is Barons Night with $2 beer and $1 hot dogs from 6-8 p.m. Following the game, fans have a chance to win a ham during the annual Ham Shoot. Everyone is invited on the ice for a chance to shoot a puck into a goal to win a ham from Schwab’s. To participate in the Ham Shoot, you must register at the Fan Relations table on the upper concourse.

For the third straight season, Barons players will decorate small Christmas trees in a manner that is appealing to them. The decorated trees will be on display on the upper concourse near The Edge Team Store where fans can place bids on the trees.  All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Barons Buddies Program. click here to read more

SATURDAY NIGHT
Saturday marks the return of our Drive Away Every Saturday promotion. One lucky fan drives away in a brand-new Honda CR-Z. The first 2,000 fans through the door receive a Barons holiday ornament.

Saturday is the annual Teddy Bear Toss Night. The Barons are looking for new and gently used stuffed animals for donation to EMSA.  When the Barons score their first goal against the Texas Stars on December 21, the fans will be asked to throw their stuffed animals toward the ice. The stuffed animals will be collected and donated to EMSA for use in breaking the ice with children who have been involved in a traumatic incident.

Saturday is also Devon Salute to Heroes night. Devon has partnered with the Barons to provide tickets to active military personnel and their immediate families. To find out more about the program, or to register for the next game, visit here.

Our postgame autograph session will take place in front of The Edge on the upper concourse. The players scheduled to sign autographs are Curtis Hamilton, Oscar Kelfbom, Martin Marincin, Ryan Martindale and C.J. Stretch. Players signing autographs may change without notice.
